:About us

Visitors to the Yassur shelter are greeted with a cacophony of enthusiastic barking from dozens of dogs, each hoping to catch your attention and be chosen for adoption to a permanent home.

Today the shelter is home to some sixty dogs, representing the largest dog shelter in the Western Galilee operated by "Klav-love" ("Dog-love"), a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and care of abandoned dogs, the shelter rehabilitates found dogs, providing housing, food, medical attention and immunization, and ultimately seeking suitable permanent homes for them. It is run strictly by our dedicated volunteers, and does not have access to any other source of financial support.

Theirs is a difficult work that includes not only the ongoing daily care of the animals, but also a constant  effort to find financial resources to pay for food, ground maintenance and vet care.  The volunteers achieve almost the impossible, giving the dogs

life, love and health.

Since it began its operation in 2006, the organization has found homes for some 1400 dogs which surely might not have otherwise survived.  We ask that you join our humanitarian effort  to save abandoned dogs by making a generous financial donation to the shelter. And certainly we will be very happy to add volunteers to our ranks.
